Welcome to StoryFarm, where creativity meets adventure. Our Outdoor Experience Design Program trains artists, educators, and outdoor enthusiasts to lead immersive, transformative experiences in both urban and natural settings.
Spend five weeks exploring Toronto’s vibrant arts district, our 70-acre farm along the Bruce Trail, and the surrounding 100-mile adventure radius. Learn to guide groups through creative storytelling, outdoor exploration, and experiential learning with confidence, skill, and heart.

Program Overview:
​
The 5-week Outdoor Experience Design Program combines hands-on experiential learning, mindful exploration, creative facilitation, and outdoor adventure. Participants gain the skills to design and lead transformative programs for diverse audiences, from youth groups to professional teams to health minded retirees.
Curriculum:

Week 1 — Foundations of Creative Facilitation - Introduction to creative adventure philosophy and experiential learning - Understanding participant dynamics and diverse learning styles - Icebreakers, group exercises, and storytelling techniques - Orientation to Toronto facility and Bruce Trail farm site
Week 2 — Nature as a Creative Catalyst - Outdoor observation exercises and creative journaling - Foraging, natural materials, and environmental art activities - Designing low-impact adventure experiences - Guided hike on Bruce Trail with reflective practices
Week 3 — Adventure & Experiential Leadership - Basics of outdoor safety, risk management, and group logistics - Facilitating small-group adventures (hiking, cycling, forest activities) - Experiential learning models and debriefing techniques - Practicum: participants co-lead an outdoor adventure segment
Week 4 — Storytelling & Facilitation Skills - Integrating narrative, metaphor, and sensory experience into adventures - Techniques for fostering creativity in groups - Peer feedback and coaching on facilitation styles - Practicum: storytelling-based activity in nature or urban arts environment
Week 5 — Capstone & Certification - Participants design and lead a full adventure session - Reflection, peer review, and facilitator self-assessment - Strategies for marketing, program design, and community engagement - Graduation and issuance of Experience design Facilitator Certificate
